Traditional houses in Praden and Tschiertschen Exhibition in the Old Schoolhouse Tschiertschen Dark brown wooden buildings characterize the village image of Praden and Tschiertschen and are part of the cultural landscape in the Schanfigg. Who built the houses and what influenced the construction? What did it look like and look like inside? Many knitting buildings are well preserved and testify to the great craftsmanship of the local builders and their attention to detail. From the 17th to the 20th century, the traditional construction has changed little. Characteristic features of the old houses are small windows, arbors with sawn-out railings, facades with carved decorations and decorative house sayings with ornaments. The exhibition complements the book "Prader Hausgeschichte(n)" by Ruth Strassmann and Susanne Müller, published in the summer of 2020. It also takes up examples of Tschiert's houses and presents illustrative documentation material such as components and tools as well as a model of the construction method. Other topics are the typical house decoration and a look into the furnishing of the living rooms. It is about the appreciation of our cultural heritage and also about how we deal with the old building structure when adapting to the modern way of life. How do conversions and new buildings fit into the townscape? Which elements make a village unique and are also attractive for tourism? Images about the development of the building style are intended to stimulate discussion. Opening Saturday, July 3 open Saturdays 3.30pm - 5.30pm, during the summer and autumn holidays also Wednesday, 3.30pm - 5.30pm or on request: 079 451 98 75. Please note the website and the stopboards.
