Crazy about solace

The children Charlotte and Felix come out of the sea and play their dead parents on the beach. A ritual that the two have been cultivating for years. In memory of their parents' wild exuberance, they cream their backs and tickle each other until they can hardly breathe. For brief moments, all grief falls away from them.

While their unbridled imagination dominates the first part of the production, the second part focuses on adulthood, and the siblings go their separate ways. The audience accompanies the characters over several decades, from childhood to old age, so that in the end they share common memories with them. They encounter hungry babies in huge parking lots, injured pole vaulters, talking octopuses, divers longing for death, people who don't feel their own bodies, cows on slaughter day, care robots and dying people waiting to die in an old people's home. They are all driven by the fear of having lost their way and the great longing for the feeling of being really alive: a celebration of the art of acting full of heartbreaking comedy.
