Schnoz's Darkbeat combines pulsating rhythms (Marc Jenny, Rolf Caflisch) with weightless melodic arcs which are carried by the mostly wordless vocals (Gabriela Krapf) and the darkbeathorns (Nolan Quinn, Benjamin Engel). In between, the guitar sounds of the bandleader weave the different levels into a colorful tapestry of sound. Elements of minimal jazz meet improvisation, interaction and the individual charisma of the band members. Andi Schnoz's compositions for Darkbeat are based on impressions of the natural elements, sometimes delicate, sometimes irrepressible, sometimes rough: always immediate and genuine.
