The Fortuna school and sports facility opens its doors: The new heart of Chur offers state-of-the-art infrastructure for schools, sports and culture. On 20 September – on the open day – it will become a meeting place for the entire population.

With the start of the new school year, the city of Chur will put the Fortuna school and sports facility into operation. The generational project combines pioneering infrastructure for education, sports, culture and neighbourhood life at a central location. Around 650 pupils of primary and lower secondary level, who were previously taught in the Daleu and Florentini school buildings, moved into the new school building before the summer holidays. The sports and music talent classes also start the new school year at the Fortuna school and sports facility.

On the open day on 20 September, a varied programme will be offered in addition to an interesting tour. The school and sports facility will become a lively meeting place for all generations.

The focus of the open day is on interesting tours that give an insight into the entire school complex. The tours correspond to the school levels with the respective parts of the building - supplemented with the sports infrastructure and the technology of the IBC. In addition to a tour, the four freely accessible tours also provide in-depth information about school and sports operations in general as well as the individual rooms. In some cases, informants are also available to answer questions.

Tour of the lower school and daycare center
This tour leads through the primary school wing and the daycare center (KTS). The modern classrooms, support and specialist rooms as well as a team room for employees can be seen. For everyone - but especially for families with children - a detour to the area of the daycare center is worthwhile. There, children's attractions such as make-up fun, handicraft corner, bicycle and balance course as well as a huge bouncy castle await the little visitors. Children can also immerse themselves in the world of brass music there. On the instrument course, various instruments can be tried out - under the guidance of the youth music. Also on the Lower School tour is the dance film by the dance artist Oona Lorenz. Particularly exciting: The scenes were shot at the location where the film is shown in the school building.

Tour of Secondary School
On the tour of the secondary school wing, you will gain an insight into the talent classes, various subject rooms and the support rooms. Take a look at the impressive triple gymnasium with the spectator stand and don't miss the varied performances in the new auditorium. Among other things, the Jugendmusik Chur will play at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. in the new auditorium. They offer a rousing potpourri of brass music. For them, it is a home game, as the young musicians also use the auditorium as a practice room. Between the program items, a time-lapse film will be shown in the auditorium, which summarizes the three years of construction in 12 minutes and impressively shows the milestones of the construction.

Tour of the sports facility
The sports facilities show how everyday school life and top-class sport can be combined. Visitors experience how the infrastructure can be used for teaching as well as for club and major events. You will get an insight into the triple gymnasium with the impressive spectator grandstand with up to 1,600 seats. In the single gym, a sporting highlight awaits all floorball fans. When measuring speed, young and old can test how hard their shot actually is. The results are sure to make for fun and maybe even a competition among friends and families. In the further course of the tour, you will gain an insight into other rooms such as the 62-metre-long warm-up corridor, the weight and theory room as well as the event kitchen and the cloakrooms.The sporting highlight of the day are two top-class floorball games in the triple gym. At 4:00 p.m., Floorball Chur United Women will play in the Champions Cup against 1st SC Kovice and at 7:30 p.m., the men of Floorball Chur United Man will compete against GC Floorball. Admission to both games is free.

Outdoor
In the outdoor area of the school and sports facility, both the sports fields and the recreation rooms are available for exercise, recreation or play. Throughout the day, the Graubünden Football Association invites you to score goals on the football pitches. Accuracy, fun and exercise are in the foreground. It's worth taking part. All participants will receive a voucher for an ice cream as a small reward.At 10.30 a.m., 12.30 p.m. and 2.30 p.m., the dance group roundabout will show their rousing choreographies on the outdoor seats. A lively program item that brings rhythm and joie de vivre to the square.

Catering
The floorball club Floorball United, which is located in the school and sports facility, will take care of the physical well-being. On the terrace of the upper school, visitors can enjoy a wide range of food and refreshing drinks. Jugendarbeit Chur also offers great non-alcoholic drinks at the Bluecocktail Bar. If you fancy a dessert, you will find a sweet selection at the Plankis ice cream stand.
