Dreibündenstein panorama trail

This exciting and enjoyable hike from Brambrüesch to the Dreibündenstein and on to Feldis takes you through delightful alpine flora and affords wonderful panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The attractive round-trip ticket includes all trips with the cableways as well as the return trip by bus or train.

Itinerary

An incomparably beautiful panoramic hike begins 1000 metres above the Alpine City of Chur. The starting point on the Brambrüesch plateau can be reached directly from the city centre thanks to the cableways connection. Another 600 vertical meters have to be conquered up to the Dreibündenstein.

At the boundary stone of the former three Rhaetian states, a magnificent panoramic view opens up, which extends from the local mountains around Chur, Arosa and Lenzerheide to the Glarus Alps. The overthrust of the UNESCO World Heritage Site Tectonic Arena Sardona, which can be seen from here on the opposite Ringelspitz to the Flimser mountains (Segnes, Tschingelhörner), is also very impressive. On the two-part panorama table at the highest point of the hike (Furggabüel) you can find the names of the peaks and the Tectonic Arena Sardona.

The descent is through an unusually rich alpine flora, idyllic forested landscapes, alpine hamlets and the mountain lake of Leg Palus to the pretty mountain village of Feldis. From Feldis you take the gondola lift to Rhäzüns, crossing the Rheinauen at Rhäzüns at a lofty height with great views of one of the last major natural river landscapes of the Rhine and one of the most intact floodplain landscapes in Switzerland. From Rhäzüns you can take the Rhaetian Railway or the city bus back to Chur.
