Bucht am Alpenrhein am Rande der Stadt Chur
The Alpine Rhine runs from Reichenau-Tamins past the town of Chur and through the Grisons and St. Gallen Rhine Valley. It offers beautiful places and numerous possibilities for hikers and cyclists.

Description

The famous river Rhine has its source in the Alps of Graubünden. The Vorderrhein in the Surselva and the Hinterrhein in the Hinterrhein/Viamala region. At Reichenau-Tamins, the Vorderrhein and Hinterrhein join to form the Alpine Rhine, which then flows past the town of Chur and through the Graubünden and St. Gallen Rhine Valley to Lake Constance.

The Alpine Rhine is too wild for swimming, but around the well-known river there are numerous beautiful places such as bays and fireplaces as well as hiking trails and cycling tours to explore the diverse Rhine Valley. On its course through the canton of Graubünden, the Alpine Rhine passes, among other things, the well-known wine-growing areas of Bündner Rheintal / Bündner Herrschaft.
