**Play with puppets based on the novels by Johanna Spyri**
With puppets, music and strong images, the well-known Swiss children's book by Johanna Spyri is reinterpreted. The play questions clichés, rethinks the well-known characters and opens up a sensual journey between the city and the mountain world for the audience. The focus is on the inclusive moments of the original.

"Heidi" tells of freedom, friendship and the search for happiness. The production takes up fundamental relationship experiences and translates them into audiovisual, sensual moments. Electronic sounds meet instruments such as zither or bells and familiar children's melodies are paired with field recordings. Because the mountains are not only idyllic. And because Johanna Spyri was born 200 years ago.

**The Theater Frei_Raum tells the story of Heidi. Why?**
"Because Heidi's longing lives on in many stories. Because I like to play the nasty roles like Fräulein Rottenmeier (wuu i im ächte Läbä so nätt bi). Because Heidi deserves to be rethought and illuminated. Because mindful living is also relevant for us. Because the rustling and undulating in the fir trees can be anything. Because Heidi enjoys the smallest things as much as if she were winning a million. Because the mountains are not only idyllic. Because I like to complain all day long, like Schneehöppli – totally annoying. Mmh. Mmh. Capuns. Because Heidi is so common and lonely. Because everyone thinks they know Heidi. Because we are also looking for happiness."

**Who is Who**
Since 2009, the inclusive theatre collective has been realising Frei_Raum productions in the field of the performing arts: stage productions, installations, performances "on the road", audio and show formats. Since 2014, the main venue and thus the artistic home has been the inclusive cultural venue Die Heitere Fahne in Wabern near Bern.

The artistic interest is in the creative potential and the exploration of non-normative perspectives and stage languages. With the power of inclusive theatre, Frei_Raum is committed to an open and diverse society as well as to the cultural participation of people regardless of their individual starting points.
