The black-and-white feature film based on Johanna Spyri's world-famous story is still considered the most poetic and impressive film adaptation of the story of the orphan girl Heidi. She lives with her embittered grandfather, Alpöhi, in the Graubünden mountains and prefers to spend her days with Peter the goat. One day she is torn from this familiar world and ends up in Frankfurt, where she meets Klara, who has a walking disability.
The Kammerphilharmonie Graubünden will play Robert Blum's film music live to the picture. The live music production was specially reworked by Swiss composer and arranger Raban Brunner and will celebrate its world premiere in 2027 – on the occasion of Johanna Spyri's 200th birthday. Film and music merge to create a unique and particularly nostalgic concert experience that brings an important piece of Swiss cinema history to life.
