Saisonkonzert 1 - Kennenlernen

In cooperation with the Musik-Akademie Basel, two composers will be accompanied by the Ensemble ö! for an entire season. They will write new works for the ensemble, which will be heard at the end of the season, and will be given plenty of time to deal with the ensemble. Again and again during the season or the rehearsal weeks for the individual projects, reading sessions are incorporated and the composers can reflect on their work progress with the ensemble.

The starting signal is an intensive get-to-know-you session in the Graubünden mountains, where the first works or work ideas can be rehearsed and developed with the ensemble. The result of this work can be heard and experienced in the first concert at the Postremise in Chur. The selection process for the two composers was carried out together with the Ensemble ö! and the Basel Music Academy.

The works or sketches will be played several times at the concert, which opens up a strong space for discussion. Between the two composition fragments, "... eloquent silence" by Sarah Nemtsov will be heard, opened by Dérive I by Pierre Boulez.
