Taizé-Feier mit dem Bandura-Ensemble BERISKA

The bandura, a rare stringed instrument with 65 to 70 strings, produces a sound of astonishing depth and transparency, similar to the Celtic harp. It is often referred to as a "small orchestra" and has its origins in Ukraine, where it is still considered a symbol of cultural identity and musical poetry. The ensemble can thus accompany Taizé songs on bandura, even instead of the organ, as well as perform original Ukrainian meditative bandura melodies.

The musical director of the traditional ensemble BERISKA Mrs. Tetiana is a composer of bandura music and the leading soloist for bandura & singing at the Philharmonic in Ukraine (Chernihiv, the region on the border with Russia and Belarus). The European tours, which take place once a year after COVID, not only finance the ensemble's travel and project costs, but also support other projects, including healing facilities for children in Chernihiv, where benefit concerts are also held, e.g. in the rehabilitation center "Widrodzhennia".
