Sekundarstufe I: Zwischen Leistung, Stigma und Zukunftschancen

Whether a child attends Real, Sek, Gymnasium or another type of lower secondary school in Switzerland sometimes depends on where they live - not just on what they can do. It also depends on the selection in the 6th primary and on the structure of the lower secondary school. The cantons organise their secondary schools in very different ways: integrated, separate or cooperative. This is associated with many questions, such as: What ideally supports the learners? What stigmatizes them? What has a lasting influence on their future prospects?
