«Hirtenzeit. Ein geistlicher Wanderweg durch die eigene Lebensgeschichte»

"Shepherd's Time" describes an inspiring mountain hike in the front Prättigau. The hiking trail leads along various alps. There are impressive encounters with people, animals and the forces of nature. The path is full of beauties, dangers and abysses like life itself. For the theologian Daniel Zindel, the hike thus becomes an invitation to recapitulate his own life story in stages on the basis of his memories. To seek one's memories, to guard them, to understand them, to reconnect them and to watch over them requires the attention and perseverance of a shepherd.

Daniel Zindel leads us through his beautiful homeland of Graubünden and invites us to organize, appreciate, marvel anew - and also let go of what you no longer have to carry. His nature-loving spirituality and pastoral depth combine to form biography work in his new narrative book ("Hirtenzeit – ein geistlicher Wanderweg durch die eigene Lebensgeschichte", SCM Brockhaus 2026). In this work, the readers shape their own life story as shepherds. At the same time, the book invites us to do so in the presence of the divine Shepherd: to understand our own lives in the light of God and, with the help of the Good Shepherd, to reconcile ourselves even with the dark chapters.
