Mehr als Film. Mehr als ein Konzert. Stummfilm "The Misterious Lady"

Under the direction of Christof Escher, the EnsembleCinéMusique specialises in the live accompaniment of silent films – an art form that is rarely experienced today, but always arouses great enthusiasm among the audience. The films from the beginning of the 20th century impress with their cinematic and acting expressiveness, as they tell their stories completely without language. Armin Brunner, known from Swiss television, has put together the appropriate music for various films in recent years with great skill and a fine sense of timing and effect. His compositions and arrangements underline the cinematic uniqueness and further enhance it. "The Lodger" will feature the impressive music composed especially for this purpose by Joby Talbot. For us musicians, every performance is a very special experience: the music is entirely in the service of the film, follows its rhythm and dramaturgy, and thus makes a significant contribution to deepening the emotional expressiveness of the images. This makes each performance a unique, living work of art.
