Expeditions to the most pristine regions of the earth, encounters with lions, unique tribal rituals and years of integration with a primitive people – this is the life of the adventurer Richard Gress. In East Africa, he is accepted into the tribal community of the Suri, takes part in their stick fights and learns how to react to elephant attacks. A huge bull elephant races directly towards him. Roughly estimated, he should weigh six tons, he thinks, when the elephant suddenly stops in front of him. "My name is Richard Gress," he quietly introduces himself. He doesn't know the name of the mighty bull elephant, not yet. He will give his new friend a name, both will get used to each other over the next few weeks, as was the case with him and all the other animals.

Richard Gress has always dreamed of living among large animals in the African bush, far away from any roads and modern civilizations. To do this, he is apprenticed to absolute survival experts, namely the Suri people in Ethiopia. Without knowledge and skills, he is initially a laughing stock, the recognized village idiot, so to speak. Over the years, he learned the language of the Suri, went hunting with them, took part in their ceremonies and became part of the village community. From the Suri he learns to feed on nature and to meet wild animals properly.

In this way, he manages to penetrate deep into the wilderness and cope on his own in the African bush for months. He lives among lions, hyenas, leopards, crocodiles, hippos and elephants. Richard Gress captures dozens of such encounters on video. Luckily! Because otherwise no one would believe what he experienced.
