Snowshoe tour – following in the footsteps of wild animals
Description
Trudge through the crackling snow, read the tracks of wildlife, and learn more about their winter survival strategies. On this snowshoe hike, you will learn more about the native fauna and what safe and considerate touring in winter means. The tour guides snowshoers through the beautiful winter landscape from Tschiertschen in Schanfigg to Churwalden. Along the way, you will hear from hiking and snowshoe guide Léonie van de Vijfeijken about which animals are active in winter and why they depend on our consideration. Additionally, you will learn how to prepare for a tour in winter and snow and how to move safely in the terrain. The snowshoe tour is aimed at adults and children from 12 years old with normal fitness. Some mountain hiking experience is required, but no prior knowledge of snowshoeing is necessary. If there is insufficient snow, a wildlife and forest hike in the region will be conducted.
