Scary and funny crime comedy in two acts by Bernd Spehling based on a novel by Edgar Wallace

Welcome to Mark's Priory, a venerable English country estate that has seen better days – and probably fewer corpses. No sooner has the highly revered (and now unfortunately highly deceased) Lord Lebanon taken his last breath than his relatives, who are as eccentric as they are greedy, gather for the opening of the will. One might think that the worst has already happened.
One is wrong.

The notary announces a condition that makes even hardened heirs turn pale:
Everyone has to spend six days and nights together in the castle without leaving it. And as if that wasn't punishment enough, the lights go out in the castle – and suddenly the first heir lies dead on the ground. Strangulated. With an Indian scarf. How rude.

What follows is a wonderfully British game of confusion full of suspicions, secrets and bizarre characters who distrust, stalk and occasionally yell at each other. Anyone could be the culprit: the nervous niece, the overly correct butler, the charmingly arrogant cousin or the aunt who looks as if she is poisoning someone at any time even while having tea.
In short: a completely normal English family.

While the storm is raging outside and nerves are fluttering inside, the tension is rising – and the number of suspects is falling. The audience is allowed to puzzle, cheer along and have a great time when the characters try to keep track of things with British politeness and very un-British panic.
Because one thing is certain: everyone has something to hide in this house.
And some hide it... well, yes... not very well.

Bernd Spehling's stage version combines classic Edgar Wallace crime thriller with fine English humour, pointed dialogues and a pinch of black comedy. An evening full of suspense, laughter and surprising twists - ideal for all those who love crime novels, appreciate humor and like to ask themselves:
"Who will be hit next?"
