Event Chur
Lesekreis CH Literaturgeschichte – Gottfried Keller: «Die Leute von Seldwyla»
Description
Together we will read Gottfried Keller's collection of novellas in the Literaturhaus Graubünden, which contains a total of ten novellas in two volumes. The framework that holds these texts together is the fictitious Swiss town of Seldwyla. Some of the novellas belong to world literature, such as "Clothes make the man and Romeo and Juliet in the village".
For the first five sessions, the participants prepare two novellas each. The last session will revolve around "The Last Snow" by Arno Camenisch. The village world that Camenisch sketches in his books shows similarities to Seldwyla with its eccentric characters.
The literary scholar Sebastian Helbig will moderate the reading circle and provide explanatory input.
Only by appointment at: kommunikation@lithaus.gr. The course is limited to a maximum of 12 participants.
Dates: 9.9.25, 14.10.25, 11.11.25, 9.12.25, 13.1.26, 10.2.26, 10.3.26
The meetings take place on Tuesdays from 7 p.m. to 8.30 p.m.
