Annie produces music using her instrument, a modular synthesizer, and focuses on how her instrument fosters the interplay between generative musical approaches and improvised live performance. In her work, she aims for a minimal, reduced, yet complex textural sound world. She combines electronic music with club and synthesizer influences with the approaches of contemporary and experimental music. Annie Rüfenacht aka Annie Aries is a Swiss-Filipino composer and musician based in Bern. She studied music and media art at the Bern University of the Arts and historical musicology at the University of Bern.

MJ Soundwalker feat. Martina Berther
far beyond bass – a joyful journey through all frequencies

They have known each other for over 20 years. Both play bass. Actually. Together several times, too. While Martina Berther has expanded her sound palette to infinity with effect devices, Marc Jenny concentrated on the acoustic double bass. Martina got into producing and Marc developed his own electronic musical instrument: the Soundwalker, an actual collaboration tool. Now they are sitting together on stage again. But although bass is still written on it somewhere, the journey goes far beyond that: a joyfull trip through all frequencies! The Soundwalker samples Martina's bass'n'FX and generates conspiratorial feedback from it. Improvisation on the verge of madness, music on the pulse of time, developed in the present and brought to the stage by two researchers from the same low-frequency land who tell each other about their travels.
