Explora Live Reportage - the new lecture by the star photographer

It all begins with a little boy's dream of wilderness and freedom. Today, three decades later, Florian Schulz lives with his family in Alaska and is one of the most renowned nature photographers and wildlife filmmakers in the world. It can be found where nature is at its most pristine: among grizzly bears, in the midst of huge herds of caribou and up close and personal with gigantic whales along the rugged Pacific coast. This is his story.

In his live reportage, Florian Schulz takes the audience on a journey through his life in the Alaskan wilderness. On foot, in a canoe, in a sailboat and in a bush plane, he explores the country that has become his home for decades. His motto: "Throw yourself into adventure, you'll find the way."

Florian Schulz films award-winning film sequences for the world's most important nature film productions, such as "Planet Earth" and "Frozen Planet" by the BBC. His work can be seen on Netflix, National Geographic and Apple TV. In order to promote the permanent protection of large wilderness regions, he participates in nature conservation campaigns and creates the visually stunning IMAX film "Our Last Great Wilderness" with his brother.

In the lecture, he tells of daring expeditions in the Arctic, of dreamed-up images that demand infinite patience from him and of the most unforgettable encounters with wild animals. There are also moments of fear, for example when he has to defend his tent camp against hungry brown bears. His pictures and stories are a tribute to the beauty of our earth and an invitation to feel the call of the wild.
