After more than 8000 concerts and 50 years "on the road", HANS THEESSINK is an institution in terms of roots music. His soulful interpretations of solo acoustic blues have become his trademark and with his sonorous voice and his unmistakable guitar style, the Dutchman and Viennese by choice is in demand worldwide. His tours take him through Europe, North America, Asia, New Zealand and Australia. In the USA - where the blues is at home - Hans, as the only European, is repeatedly represented at the largest blues, roots, jazz and folk festivals. The US press called the two-time Amadeus winner and recipient of the Golden Medal of Merit of the State of Vienna "an international blues treasure", and the legendary Bo Diddley said: "A hellishly good guitarist". Hans has won various Amadeus Awards and Danish Music Awards. He was also nominated for a Grammy and the Blues Music Award 2009 in Memphis, TN. In 2018, Hans was inducted into The Dutch Blues Hall Of Fame. He has released over 30 albums, a songbook, an instructional video and a DVD.
