Präsentation des Films «Rudolf Olgiati. Architekt» von Ursula Riederer (1988)

At the centre of this year's programme is the film "Rudolf Olgiati. Architect" by Ursula Riederer – a cinematic portrait of the Graubünden architect Rudolf Olgiati (1910–1995). The 16 mm colour film premiered in 1988 at the Rätia cinema, was shown at the Solothurn Film Festival and was shown at other festivals in Switzerland and abroad. It was realized with a small, top-class crew: Patrick Lindenmaier (camera), Martin Witz (sound) and Pius Morger (cinematography); the music was improvised by the Graubünden jazz musician Werner Lüdi (1936–2000). A lot of time has passed since then. And the film is digitized.

In 2004, Ursula Riederer published the monograph "Rudolf Olgiati. Building with the senses", which is based on the sound recordings of the film and on further research and was scientifically accompanied by Daniel Walser. Ursula Riederer and Daniel Walser are now teaming up again for the event at the Cantonal Library: together they present the film and provide insights into its creation, the background and the lasting effect.
