Chur meat pie

Churer Fleischtorte
A showpiece from Chur's cuisine is the Chur meat pie. Here, too, there are variations, especially when it comes to the choice of meat. For example, beef can be used instead of mixed minced meat. Either way, the tart will be delicious!

Ingredients (for approx. 4 people)


  • 400 g flour
  • 150 g margarine
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 dl water
  • 1 egg yolk


  • 500 g mixed minced meat
  • 50 g bacon, finely chopped
  • 1 dl cream
  • 1 bread roll, diced hot milk
  • 1 onion
  • salt, nutmeg, pepper 


Meat pie 
Rub the flour, margarine and salt together, mix 2 dl water, 1 egg yolk, add to the flour, work together and leave to rest for a while. 
Mix the minced meat and the bacon with the cream. Soak the bread roll in hot milk, squeeze well and add to the meat with the onion. Season with salt, pepper and nutmeg and mix well. 
Use two thirds of the dough to cover a cake tray, prick well with a fork and spread the filling on top. Roll out a lid from the rest of the dough and place it on top. Brush the lid with egg and prick it lightly with a fork.
