The Greisinger Museum is a foundation and has housed the largest and most important collection on the theme of "Middle Earth" in the world since 2013.

Description

In the village of Jenins, famous for its wine, situated not far from Chur, there is something that is not found anywhere else in the world: Tolkien's Middle earth - a museum devoted to the world of English fantasy author J. R. R. Tolkien (1892 - 1973). Tolkien became known mainly through the books 'The Hobbit' and 'The Lord of the Rings', which were also made into blockbuster movies.

The Greisinger Museum is a non-profit foundation. Since 2013, it has hosted the largest and most important collection on the subject of 'Middle-earth' worldwide. It houses a wealth of art and literature as well as all sorts of collectables. Here you can be transported directly into the mysterious world of Middle-earth, elves and orcs included. For all fantasy and Tolkien fans an absolute must! You will enter the museum through the circular door of a Hobbit hole, and from there you will experience many places in the mysterious world of Middle-earth.

Visiting the museum
The museum has no opening hours and can only be visited during a guided tour conducted in German, English, Italian or French. Those interested (individual guests as well as groups) can purchase tickets for a visit in advance on the website www.greisinger.museum, available in six languages.
