Brambrüesch for families in summer

The ride on the cableways from Chur alone will delight young and old alike. Up on Brambrüesch, there are restaurants, a playground, a moorland course, the Brambi theme trail, scooter fun and much more for the little ones.

Cableways right out of the city

Where else can you get on the gondola right in the city and float into the mountain adventure? The cableways ride with the aerial cableway and the small gondola lift is in itself a great experience for our little guests. And of course also for the grown-ups. Because the view of Chur and into the Rhine Valley is quite unique.

Familiar hiking area

Toddlers have a lot of fun on the Edelweiss circuit, because on this tour they are accompanied by the squirrel Brambi, who tells a story on several beautifully illustrated boards. The round trip lasts about an hour and on the way you can enjoy refreshments in the Edelweisshütte in the midst of beautiful nature, with a terrace and a small playground.

The somewhat older children, on the other hand, have a lot of fun on the circular hike from Brambrüesch to Pradaschier. The hike is not too long and not too strenuous. And on the way there are several barbecue areas for cosy breaks. But the big finale is of course the descent with the longest toboggan run in Switzerland from Pradaschier to Churwalden.

A classic for the whole family is the pleasure hike from Brambrüesch to the middle station Känzeli. It leads along a wide forest path gently downwards with a magnificent view of Känzeli and lasts about an hour. Can also be easily done with a carry backpack or pram (brake recommended).

Moorland course Brambrüesch

In the course of extensive renaturation, a remarkable biotope has developed in the Riedboden area on Brambrüesch. Where a swamp already used to be home to many amphibians, animals and plants, a moorland now offers many species a new home and nature regains more habitat. It has been made accessible with an attractive moor course with educational information boards.

Scooter fun

The descents with scooter and bike board on Brambrüesch are fun for the whole family. The descent leads along a 5 km long, wide nature trail leisurely to the middle station Känzeli. From the age of 10 children can ride a scooter themselves, the smaller children can ride with their parents. The AIS sports school, which rents out the scooters, is located directly opposite the family-friendly Bergbaiz, which also has a beautiful children's playground.

Cross Golf

Switzerland's first official cross golf course is played on nine holes amidst the picturesque mountain scenery on Brambrüesch. Fun for young and old!

Fireplaces

At the Ambrosius fountain (just behind the Brambus-Center, where it also has public toilets) there is a very nice «Swiss family» fireplace with firewood, tables and benches.

Another fireplace can be found at the small lake on the Malixeralp as well as on the hike towards Pradaschier.

Playground

Right next to the Bergbaiz there is a playground for children who enjoy climbing and parents who are hungry for the sun.

Mountain restaurants

Several cosy mountain restaurants await guests on Chur's local mountain, which also have suitable offers for families.
